Description
The application of silicate paints in the rehabilitation of facades, especially on plasters, is used as the most appropriate protection. The degradation of exterior plasters is mainly due to the destructive effect of soluble salts. Combustion gases and industrial emissions combine with rainwater to form acids. These acids react with the mineral binders of the
building materials by forming soluble salts. These, when crystallized and
hydrate, significantly increase their volume and exert a pressure that destroys
the building materials. In the continuous exposure to the exterior, the plasters are losing mineral binder, the Silicate paints are resistant to acids and its crystalline hardness is similar to that of rock crystal, the treatment exerts a water-repellent effect that prevents the passage of rainwater. Other advantages are that its heat expansion behavior is the same as that of the mineral support, thus avoiding cracks and spalling.
Application
By brush or roller. For airless spray gun adjust the viscosity.
Performance
As a guideline, a yield of 8 - 10 m2/Kg is calculated. Stir the contents of the container well before use.
